  • How long will the new paint last?
This can vary depending on the type of paint used, surface, maintenance and environmental conditions. We refer to the manufacturer's guidance of the paint/brand chosen for further details.
  • How do I maintain the paintwork afterwards?
Maintaining your painted surfaces will keep them looking fresh for as long as possible. It is important to keep the painted surfaces clean and free of dust/dirt on a regular basis. We refer to the manufacturer's instructions for the best course of action to maintain the painted surface as it can vary depending on paint type/brand. It is not advisable to use abrasive materials as this can cause damage to the paint surface. Some generalised tips for cleaning as follows: Flat or Matte finishes require a very gentle approach. Too much rubbing or cleaning can be detrimental. Removing dirt or stains from low-sheen surfaces can be difficult which is why they are best used in low traffic areas. Eggshell and Satin require a gentle touch but are much easier to clean than flat or matte finishes. New spills and dirt can usually be wiped clean with little effort. Semi-Gloss and High Gloss finishes can handle more vigorous cleaning, which is why they are frequently used in kitchens and bathrooms. These finishes are more stain-resistant and can take a more forceful cleaning if necessary.
  • What type of finish should I choose?
This can depend on the area/room to be painted as well as environmental factors and personal choice. We can guide you through this choice based on our professional experience. For further information Resene have some useful tips/information in this blog post.

  • How do I choose the right paint colour?
First think about the mood you want to create, for example; calm, warm, intimate, cozy, light & fresh or bright & bold. Next, consider your current decor/furniture etc and look for options that will compliment your home and personality. Always test samples under different lighting conditions. If you are unsure we can help guide you through the decision process.
